About
My name is Lisa Parcell.
I specialize in creating engaging spaces, curating beautiful things, and crafting refreshing experiences, all with a unique, client-focused, personal style. I get excited about collaboration, innovation, and preservation.
I previously spent 4 years at a large architecture firm specializing in healthcare design, engaged in all design phases, from concept development through furniture and finish specification and design execution. This experience helped to craft my holistic approach to design, considering elements that promote wellness and healthy living, and creating spaces that respond to those factors. I earned my Master’s Degree in Interior Architecture from the Boston Architectural College in 2013 and have since been working as a freelance design consultant, fostering relationships with both residential and commercial clients.
In 2009, I began my tenure as commissioner on the Aberdeen Architectural Conservation District Commission, one of nine districts that comprise the Boston Landmarks Commission. I have been serving as Chair of the commission since 2014. Our focus is on interpreting guidelines that aim to preserve the unique architectural integrity of the Aberdeen District.
I'm also a mom-of-two, marathon runner, podcast subscriber, antique enthusiast, and french macaron baker. In 2017, I began my own business, Mavan Macarons, making custom-designed, hand painted, small-batch French macarons.
